Building world-class software from Morocco

For decades, the story told to ambitious Moroccan engineers had one ending: leave. The talent was here; the opportunity, supposedly, was elsewhere. Khawarizmiyat exists because we believe that story is out of date, and the best way to retire a story is to ship the counter-example.

The distance is gone

Software is the rare industry where geography has stopped being destiny. The tools, the infrastructure, the knowledge, and the markets are equally reachable from Rabat, Casablanca, or California. What a product is judged on (reliability, craft, speed of iteration) carries no accent. A millennium ago, al-Khwarizmi's algorithms travelled from Baghdad to the entire world without him moving with every copy. Code travels even better.

What remained scarce was not talent but proof: local examples that a world-class product could be designed, engineered, and operated entirely from Morocco. Proof changes what people attempt. That is the gap we are here to close.

Depth over breadth

Our model is a house of ventures: one venture per sector, deep rather than shallow. We pick a sector that matters, embed with the people who work in it, and build the software their reality actually requires. Then we stay until the job is done.

The first proof is DrBook, the platform Moroccan medical practices run on: appointments, patient records, prescriptions, billing, and AI-assisted diagnosis, built with doctors for the Moroccan reality. It is not a pilot or a prototype. It runs real practices, under real regulatory constraints, every working day.

What "world-class" commits us to

Calling something world-class is cheap; being it has a definition. It means products that would compete anywhere, engineered entirely here. It means being Moroccan is our origin, never our excuse. And it means every venture leaves the ecosystem stronger than it found it: engineers trained, standards raised, and the next founder shown that the ceiling they assumed does not exist.
