KHAWARIZMIYAT

About

The name is the mission.

Khawarizmiyat — خوارزميات — means “algorithms”. The word the whole world uses every day is, letter for letter, the name of a man from our civilization.

In the ninth century, Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi worked in Baghdad's House of Wisdom. His book on calculation gave Europe its numerals; its Latin title gave us the word “algorithm”; the al-jabr in another of his titles became “algebra”. Few people in history have their name inside so much of the modern world.

That heritage is ours too. The geometry carved into every Moroccan zellige panel is the same discipline that structures code: patterns, precision, repetition mastered until it looks effortless. We didn't import this craft. We are resuming it.

Khawarizmiyat is the mother company of DrBook and of the ventures to come — a Moroccan technology house with one mission: put Morocco on the world map of software and AI.

The Khawarizmiyat emblem: خوارزميات in Kufic script rising into a Moroccan dome

The emblem

Our emblem draws خوارزميات in Kufic script rising into a Moroccan dome — the oldest Arabic calligraphy carrying the newest Moroccan ambition. The diamond dots are the i'jam, the marks that make the letters readable. We treat them the way we treat detail in software: nothing ships without them.

The house

Khawarizmiyat is headquartered in Morocco. Its first venture, DrBook, digitizes medical practices across the country. New ventures are in the making.
